As a Welder Helper, your role is instrumental in supporting welders in the execution of various welding projects. You will be responsible for preparing materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces to meet project specifications. Working closely with the welder, you assist in setting up welding equipment, ensuring tools and materials are organized and readily available. During the welding process, you tack or clamp workpieces into position, shield and protect adjacent surfaces, and hand tools and materials to the welder as needed. Beyond the actual welding, you play a vital role in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, performing basic maintenance on equipment, and contributing to post-welding cleanup. Your commitment to adhering to safety guidelines, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and continuous learning from experienced welders will be essential in ensuring a secure and efficient work environment.
