Good news for international students in Canada
The Canadian government has relaxed Canada Immigration rules to support international students affected by COVID-19. Canada has granted PR eligibility to international students if they have been forced to complete their course at a Canadian university online after matriculation due to the pandemic.
Under Canadian immigration regulations, you are not eligible for Canadian educational credentials if more than 50% of your course is distance learning. It also includes online learning.

These points are an important part of Canadian PR eligibility for international students wishing to immigrate to Canada. According to the new decision, if an international student completed a study program online between March 2020 and August 2022, the IRCC will accept such study duration. These students will have points added for their studies when calculating their CRS score in the Express Entry system.
